Non-Communicable Diseases

Non-communicable diseases, or NCDs, are diseases that are not transmissible directly from one person to another.  There are four main types of non-communicable diseases: cardiovascular disease, cancer, chronic respiratory disease, and diabetes.

Senga Safe – Cervical Cancer (Module 1)

In Uganda, a Senga is a trusted adult in the family, generally an auntie. The Senga is a guide for the young girl as she grows and matures into a young woman. This application program was developed to help women and girls in rural Uganda to understand about HPV virus, how it transmits and become a fatal disease: cervical cancer.

Senga Safe – Module 2

In Module 2 the young girl learns about sexual relations, safe sex, family planning and family health.

Senga Safe – Module 3

Module 3 is where the Senga explains about HPV virus and the vaccine that can prevent cervical cancer.
