Antenatal Care – Ma’ama Care
Antenatal healthcare is widely misunderstood, particularly in rural poor Uganda. The importance of antenatal visits and following a healthy regime during pregnancy cannot be understated. Our Ma’ama Care Guidebook was developed specifically to help community health workers, midwives and clinicians explain to young women how diet and healthy practices have an affect on their baby’s development.
This antenatal care lesson has been developed similar to our other applications with the use of culturally relevant graphics and simple text. This guidebook carefully explains each step of the baby’s development and the importance of diet and healthy practices to reduce the risks of negative outcomes.
